Goal: Eliminate use of IRS laptops and printers
Nationwide, 4,200 IRS Depot units shipped in TY ,400 replacements this year
34 CO1 IRS laptops replaced this year
Program will continue until IRS laptops are eliminated
IRS printer refresh details not yet announced.

4. 2018 AARP Laptop Refresh Program
Replacement Selection Criteria:
Tax-Aide Inventory Agent (TIA) activity in last year, and
Listed as “OK” in Online Inventory System (OIS) as of June 1, 2018, and
Less than 1.5 GHz Processor, or
Less than 1.7 GB RAM, or
Less than 100 GB hard drive

8. 2018 AARP Printer Refresh Program
Driven by Key Reinstallation Attack (KRACK)—WiFi vulnerability
Targeting actively used, obsolete printers, i.e. HP series
Goal: One network printer, one backup per site
Printer refresh models:
HP LaserJet Pro M102w (WiFi only)
Brother HL-L2370DW (WiFi and Ethernet)

9. Printers KRACK Exposure in WiFi Mode
Mitigation:
Update printer firmware (Jan 2018 or newer)
Update printer firmware on all printers, even those newly received from GraceWorkz
If not available, do not connect printer using WiFi.
Use Ethernet cable to router, or
USB to a single computer. (Do not use Windows printer sharing.)
Use WiFi print server attached to USB port of printer

10. HP P1102w Printer Firmware “Wrinkle”
Older P1102w printers may not accept the update
Print a configuration page:
On top line, if there is a space between the P and 1102w, can be updated:
On top line, if no space, cannot be updated

11. Router Replacement Two types of vulnerability: KRACK and VPNFilter
Mitigation:
Update router firmware (Jan 2018 or newer)
Replace router
Approximately fifty CO1 routers replaced so far with TP-Link TL-WR841N (Version 13 or later)
