3 Figure 2 (A) Chest radiography showed significant regression of the primary tumor after 1 month of treatment with afatinib. (B–D) However, 57 days after the patient started taking the afatinib, chest radiography and computed tomography demonstrated extensive bilateral alveolar infiltrates, suggesting the presence of diffuse alveolar damage. (E–G) After the afatinib was stopped and high-dose steroids were administered, the interstitial lung infiltrates were remarkably improved.
