So, if we really want to use porewater to characterize availability, how do we measure it?
It’s difficult due to typically low concentrations and limited sample volumes, but with a passive sampling technique, SPME, can concentrate the contaminant into a solid phase which increases detection limits dramatically
Have field-deployable model that can be used to measure concentrations in sediment, and even at discrete depths in sediment
