1 Community of Practice on Managing for Development Results (CoP-MfDR)
Virtual Learning Network Walkthrough Third International Roundtable Hanoi, Viet Nam 5 February 2007 Good morning community members and soon to be members. I will be guiding you in a short walkthrough to our Virtual Learning Network, the CoP-MfDR website. Some points to mention before the walkthrough – first this is only a 5-minute presentation and second, it is unfortunate that there is no internet connection in this ballroom. But nothing to worry as screenshots of the pages in the site was done and there is a dedicated CoP room located at level 2 where you can access the site. To proceed

2 The Virtual Learning Network provides:
Online discussions on MfDR topics and issues The CoP Library MfDR members general collection Access to MfDR practitioners and experts in Asia Pacific and around the world News Monthly newsletters CoP-MfDR News Articles Mailing list and rooms Country case folders (to evolve into country-based CoPs) Chat facility I’d like to introduce you to the homepage. The navigation buttons are located at the top portion just under the CoP-MfDR banner. (home, about us etc). The homepage also gives members the updates and latest happenings such as CoP-MfDR’s presentation here at the RT3. New portions such as the recently opened Managing for Development Results in South Asia. We intend to use this site as a collaboration tool to assist an ongoing regional technical assistance project in Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan and recently Sri Lanka. An important part of the site is the online discussion forum. As you can see the latest posting was the draft agenda for the RT3 – and we wish to apologize for this as we had to work on the documentation for the funding of the project for the next three years. Resources and documents are housed in the CoP Library. We have dedicated a place for our members to upload their general collection. The CoP Library also provides us access to MfDR practitioners and experts in Asia Pacific and around the world. Next is the news portion, we post the monthly newsletter in this site as well as CoP-MfDR News articles (this includes events where the Community has been invited to participate such as the Aid Effectiveness meeting held in Manila last October). We also have the mailing list and rooms. What are rooms? These are the areas where CoP-MfDR meetings are placed. We have opened a room for the CoP presentation here at the RT3 and all the presentations can be accessed and printed from this area. We also have the country case folders where members can upload documents relating to their country. And lastly the Chat facility.
