6 Construction Issues During our initial test runs, we encountered a problem in keeping the marble in the pvc tracks, but luckily we solved this by boxing in the tracks. Also, we misaligned the marble falling into the first lever to trigger the second lever and solved this by rearranging the lever and the string. Another problem we had was a weight issue with the marbles. We had to use a small marble on the second lever in order for it to roll down to the next set of pvc pipes because the larger marbles were too heavy to be moved by the small force we were applying to it. Our second lever that was supposed to pull the trigger of the nerf gun, didn’t have enough force behind it to fire the gun, so we implemented a mouse trap with a greater closing force to pull the trigger and , hence, averted this problem.

7 Conclusions After we overcame the problems listed in the previous slide, our design worked very well. It was just a matter of making sure every aspect of the motion of the device was accounted for. The hardest thing to do as engineers, for us anyway, was to think and design something that was inefficient, yet worked perfectly. We overcame the issue of inefficient thinking by starting at the end of our design and working to the beginning. This allowed us to design efficiently in an inefficient manner.
