Financial Update (Steve):
We did not have updated financial reports to review. A review will be completed at the October Board meeting.
The final membership dues invoice to be received is processing with an issue date of Oct. 21st.
Old Business:
Learning Tour Attendee Analysis: Julie is reaching out to companies who send people to Learning Tours to gather data about what those companies are gaining or hoping to achieve by having their folks attend these events. There has not been enough data collected yet to share.
One-Pager Doc Update: Andy Walz is currently working on making the doc electronic. Julie and Vance Collver are defining the operating patterns and Culture of CI to add to the electronic graphic.
VP of Finance & Tasks Transition Update: Julie has obtained signing authority for NWHPEC’s checking and savings accounts. Mike is now removed from the accounts in full. Mike, Steve, and Julie are meeting at Selco on Oct. 20th to add Steve to the accounts and move the B of A account to Selco.
Event Updates (Julie):
Learning Tours: Milwaukee Electronics wants to move forward with their Nov. 14th Learning Tour using the existing format. Woodfold, who was scheduled for Oct. 31st using a new format, will now cancel their Learning Tour to wait for the new format to be identified.
Training Classes: Oct 3rd and Oct 4th Intro to Lean classes at Axiom. The Oct. 3rd class is one seat shy of being full and the Oct. 4th class is full. Biamp is considering hosting several classes in They are meeting with Kari Penca to do a formal walk through where Kari can learn what they are trying to achieve by hosting the classes.
Executive Forums: Next up: Nov. 15th Challenge class with Scott Simmons and Dec. 13th follow on Stir-the-Paint session : We do have dates from Dan Miller for one Lean and the Human Element series. We are currently working out the details on how we will transition the delivery of the material to Kari with Dan as her partner and coach in this series.
Leadership Session: Oct. 25th with Gary Peterson. The promo video is completed and ready to distribute. Julie will start calling exec’s and leaders the week of Oct. 2nd to communicate this Fall series.
Kata Practitioner Day: Nov. 16th at Biamp Systems. This online event is set up webinar style, hosted by Lean Frontiers.
New Business:
New Board Director Discussion: With Mike’s resignation from the Board, we have an open seat to fill. Julie has identified three potential Board Director candidates and sent their information to Alex for review. Julie and Alex have the action to select a primary candidate and present back to the Board for approval to move forward.
Executive Director Search & Transition Plan: Julie updated the Board on the two actions she is working to complete. Julie has sent the first draft of the organizational announcement to Alex for review and input. Steve suggested contacting Xenium to inquire about getting assistance writing the job description, doing a salary market analysis, etc. A transition sub-committee comprised of Alex, Dale, Richard, and Steve will oversee the transition and hiring of the new Executive Director. Julie will also create a “task list” to share with the sub-committee.
