Today you are going to reason and work through some word problems as a team. As you work as a team remember What good math conversation looks like. After all groups have finished you are going to make connection in others work by looking at other methods.

6 To begin… You are going to try the problem
individually for 5 minutes at first in order to make sure you have something to contribute to the group. Then… Discover and Share You will have 1 minute to read a partners work. You and your table group are going to be looking at other student’s work on the same question. As you rotate to a new group you will have 2 minutes to look at others strategies. After that 2 minutes you will have 1 minute to write 1 connection that you have made to their strategies on a notecard. You will rotate a total of 2 times. After she was finished, she poured the mix into ounce cupcake tins. How many of these cupcakes would one batch of this mix make? Shelia’s cupcakes take hours to bake. If she has cupcake tins, and the oven is only big enough for one cupcake tin at a time, how long will it take to bake the cupcakes?
