Moonlight (allows some visibility at night) is caused by reflection of Sun’s visible light rays
Tides are created by gravitational pull on large bodies of Earth water (oceans) … mostly by the Moon (some by Sun)
Moon = 1/6th force of Gravity vs. on Earth
(less mass), but still enough to affect us

3. Our MOON: 29½ days per complete orbit
Phases: Waxing Moon is “new” … Waning  passed ½-way, ‘dying’
Path: ~ same path as Sun … “rises” in East & moves to West
Face: we always see the same side of the Moon!
(Moon same speed as it orbits Earth
