Established the structure of the US Gov. Guaranteed equality under the law with majority rule and the rights of the minority protected Affirmed individual worth and dignity of all people Protected the fundamental freedoms of Religion, speech, press, assemble and petition CE 2b

2 The Constitution of the United States has three main parts:
Preamble: Introduction The Articles (I-VII): Describes how the Government is set up and the duties of each branch. I. The Legislative Branch (making laws) II. The Executive Branch (The President & enforcing laws) III. The Judicial Branch (Judges…Courts) The Amendments (1-27): Contains the Bill of Rights (Amendments 1-10) and “Changes” to the Constitution. The Bill of Rights: Guaranteed rights to citizens that could not be taken away by the government. CE 2b
