2 Introduction and Meeting Format
Introduce Project Staff Meeting Format: Presentation (About 10 minutes) Questions and Answers with Project Staff Handouts Project Questionnaire and Comment Card Sign-in Sheet (Important Contact Information) Construction Frequently Asked Questions

3 Project Overview Utility Improvements Road Construction
Drainage Improvements

4 Utility Improvements Village is reviewing the condition of the existing sanitary sewer and water main and considering maintenance / reconstruction to be completed with the project. Sanitary sewer and water main maintenance / reconstruction is not currently assessed by the Village Policy.

5 Road Construction Existing roadways are in fair to poor condition.
PASER ratings are from 3-4. Soil borings indicate inadequate base course depth and buried topsoil. No sidewalks are being considered at this time. New asphalt surface will be paved. Roadway resurfacing is not assessed per current Village Policy. Option #3 to reconstruct the roadways is the recommended option.

6 Ditching vs. Curb and Gutter Typical Sections

7 Drainage Improvements
Existing Conditions Existing drainage is by roadway ditches and drainage ways between houses / along the backs of houses. Existing ditches have limited standing water, but some are shallow, causing heaved culverts. Sideyard / Backyard drainage ways – No improvements planned

8 Drainage Improvements
Option #1 – Do Nothing Minimizes impact to properties, only roadway would be resurfaced. Any areas of standing water would not be addressed. Existing culverts that are heaved would likely heave again after roadway is resurfaced.

9 Drainage Improvements
Option #2 – Limited Ditch Cleaning and Culvert Replacement This option would include replacing culverts that are heaved / in poor condition and ditch cleaning to a depth of 2’ per the Village Standard. Ditches with standing water would also be cleaned to drain. Culverts filled with sediment would be cleaned.

10 Drainage Improvements
Option #3 – Ditch Reconstruction This option would include replacing most or all culverts . Ditches would be reconstructed to Village Standard depth of 2’. Would likely require temporary grading easements from residents. May require ditching along drainage ways between houses. Could impact trees, landscaping, etc. within right of way.

11 Drainage Improvements
Option #4 – Curb and Gutter with Storm Sewer This option would include reconstructing the roadways with curb and gutter and storm sewer. Storm water treatment would be required. Costs for 100% of curb and gutter and 30% of storm sewer / 100% of mini-storm sewer would be assessed to property owners on a per lot basis per Village Policy.

12 Curb and Gutter Option Right of Way is 50’ – 60’ Wide
Roadway is shown as 32’ from back of curb to back of curb per Village Standard
