In this scenario we had the main city which is connected to the SDH network via the MP-4100 and we wanted to bring connectivity into far and isolated vilages as well, therefore we worked with the Airmux which has ETH/E1 connctivity over the airlinks, and the Optimux 45 was installed as a chian/drop insert topolegy, where the traffic from the users E1/T1 could get into and drop out at each point and be loaded over the T3 uplink. This topology is what we call an open ring, since the OP-45 may be installed as a close ring as well with less then 50ms flip over in the ring in order to avoid loss of voice Optimux ETH Access CVS NMS IAD’s MAP Last Mile
