2 Steps Determine the axis of rotation (am I rotating about an x-axis or a y-axis?) Choose which method to use (disk/shell) Draw a graph Draw the rectangle you will use to get the 2d area For Shell Method, find the radius (distance to axis of rotation), height, and width of the rectangle. For Disk Method, find the outer radius (distance from the outer line to the axis of rotation) and inner radius (distance from the inner line to the axis of rotation) 6. Integrate using the formula for disk or shell method
