Operational Definitions Student made definitions based on understanding of a concept on data collected after labs or class discussion.

5 Journal Set-up (ALWAYS start New Activity on new sheet of paper on right side) - Date Activity # Title - Learning Target- copy - Challenge Question - Copy question / no answer Discussion – Class notes, new learning, brainstorming, identify misconceptions, vocab - Materials - Procedure – brief summary to show understanding / purpose of lab (Success Criteria)

Then COPY exactly what is on the board. You will NOT answer the Challenge Question, just think about it. When all members of your group have quietly finished copying the board, Discuss AND Write definitions of the VOCABULARY.

11 Check your MATERIALS PROCEDURE: Write a summary of the procedure What is a summary?? What is it that are learning and how will you know you learned it?

12 DATA: Could be multiple things:
- specific to procedure directions (logical steps) - graphs / tables / charts / etc. - observations of a lab - etc

13 ANALYSIS Write detailed answers for the questions assigned
