1 Advanced Placement (AP) Exam Registration

2 What is an AP Exam? The Advanced Placement exam is a part of College Board (PSAT/ SAT) Most exams are 2 – 3 hours The first part—usually multiple-choice The second part—usually consists of free-response questions Type of exams Paper Based Exams Computer Based Exams (for certain language exams) Portfolio Exams Based (AP Studio Art) Open to all students in AP courses Scored on a 1 – 5 scale To earn college credit, students must have at least a 3 on the exam (some may required a 4 or 5) If you have questions about how colleges award college credit for AP exams you can visit You will choose one of four or five answer choices for each question and use a pencil to bubble in your choice on your AP answer sheet. Your total exam score on the multiple-choice section is based only on the number of questions answered correctly. You won’t receive or lose points for incorrect answers or unanswered questions. Depending on the exam, your responses could be in the form of an essay, a solution to a problem, or a spoken response. In most cases, you’ll be writing your response in pen in the free-response exam booklet.

3 Exam Dates and Locations
Where does the exam take place? L.C. Anderson High School Exact locations will be posted in mid-April When are the exams administered? May 2nd-May 13th Morning exams begin promptly at 8:00a.m. Afternoon exams begin promptly at 12:30p.m. If you arrive after the exam has started, you will not be allowed to enter and will not receive a refund. Registration Register online at On-Time – January 1st - March 4st Late – March 5th-March 18th $20 late fee per exam charged during this time period

4 Exam Fees and Payment Exam Fees Payment Options
$96.00 per exam if paid during regular registration $ per exam if paid during late registration Free and Reduced - $30.00 per exam Free and Reduced -$50.00 per exam if paid during late registration Payment Options Available through Total Registration (Credit/Debit card or mailed check/money order) Have credit/debit card with you before beginning the registration process Payment Plans Available through the online registration Partial payments will incur a $2.75 fee for each partial payment All payments MUST be received by Monday, March 21 or your exams will be cancelled. We strongly recommend that parents and students are present while registering to ensure that the correct exams are ordered.

5 Test Cancelation Note to IB Students
You may cancel an exam up until 11:59 PM, Wednesday, March 11th All cancellations will incur a $20 cancellation fee per exam Absolutely no refunds will be given after March 11th Note to IB Students It is the student’s responsibility to check for conflicts and register for the late AP exams To register for the late exams students must enter what IB Exams they are taking accurately in the Total Registration system The AP test coordinator will then assign the late AP Test for IB students

6 Pre-Administration This session is required for all students taking AP exams! Registration for a pre-administration session is available when students register for their exams. Pre-Administration times are at 8:00am or 9:00am All students must fill out the information portion of their answer sheet during pre-administration on April 7, 2016

7 Absence Policies Late exams are Primarily used for students with testing conflicts IB EOC Other AP Tests Not all absences will be accepted for a late exam. In order for us to consider an absence, documentation from a medical doctor is required with cause of absence clearly stated on the notice.

8 Testing Accommodations (504 and Special Education Students)
Who qualifies for accommodations? Students who currently receive school accommodations do not automatically receive their accommodations for AP testing. Students who receive school accommodation have to make an official request through College Board by February 19, 2016.
