Change any text you like in the ppt, including the organelles and what’s written inside the doors
Watch that students don’t cut on those lines until AFTER we’ve titled and colored the front; if they cut too early, it’s much more difficult and time-consuming. Also make sure that when they’re writing their notes inside the little doors that they are aware of where that margin ends; keep the title area on the right clear if possible.

I did this with my students on a Tuesday, and on Friday they had a quiz: list the 8 organelles and their functions (that’s why we circled each fact 1 on the ppt).
Teachers- make one of these for yourself beforehand; that way everything makes sense to you, and you have an example to show students. Yes- you can change any text you like.

What’s inside my other doors:
Ribosomes: make proteins by assembling chains of amino acids; are not enclosed in a membrane
Endoplasmic reticulum: help in the making, processing, and movement of proteins, and in making lipids; it’s a system of membranes near the nucleus
Golgi complex: package and distribute things like protein and lipids; a system of flattened sacs
Cell wall: provide support and protection to the cell; a rigid structure that surrounds the cell
Large central vacuole: stores water and supports the plant cell; animal cells also have vacuoles that store nutrients, enzymes, water, and wastes
Chloroplast: where photosynthesis occurs, where sunlight, CO2, and water combine to form oxygen and sugar; the green solution inside chloroplasts is called chlorophyll
Lysosomes: contain enzymes which break down wastes, foreign invaders, and worn out organelles; attach to vacuoles
