I have assigned your groups & roles within your groups. In each group, there will be: Reader – reads aloud the evidence, highlights evidence, & makes annotations when prompted to do so by the group. Vocab Expert – circles words you don’t know & looks up definition using device or dictionary. Main Idea Expert – finds the main idea of the text & writes down a short summary on the document. Investigative Reporter – fills in the investigation report as you go along

When complete with a document, fill in Evidence section of the “Investigation Report” in the corresponding section. Raise your hand, so I can come check your work. Once you have gone through all of the evidence, review with your team the most convincing pieces of evidence – the ones that prove Jackson’s guilt and the ones that prove his innocence. Decide if Jackson is Guilty or Not Guilty. If your verdict is Not Guilty – you must decide who is & support it with evidence.

The Verdict Report: Complete all remaining sections of the verdict report – you may share the load. Other group members can complete each section. This will be your final grade! Points for lack of participation/off task behavior will be deducted from each team member’s final score. Grammar/spelling counts!
