IT’S YOUR CHANCE TO GET THE COLLEGE EXPERIENCE! Welcome and introduction by staff member presenting – explain what the Experience Day is about ie: This is your chance to experience college life and get a taste of what the subjects you are interested in are really like. You will need to register your choices using our form, which you will fill out online Today I’m going to take you through the process – if you have any questions please ask.

2 WHICH ROAD WILL YOU TAKE? A-LEVELS
JOB - WITH TRAINING VOCATIONAL EDUCATION Talk about the Raising Participation Age here – so this year anyone in year 11 will have to stay in full-time education or a job with training until they are 17. The year after it will be 18. This is your chance to find out more about the route you want to take when you finish your GCSEs

Experience Day sessions for you are available at Cornwall College Camborne, Falmouth Marine School and Duchy College Rosewarne (near Camborne). Each campus has state-of-the-art facilities, and many offer specialist courses that are unique in Cornwall. Falmouth Marine School provides specialist boatbuilding, marine engineering, marine science and watersports courses from entry level to degrees. Duchy College Rosewarne offers specialist courses focused mainly on the countryside and again start at entry level and go right up degree. Cornwall College Camborne specialises in A-levels and vocational qualifications – or diplomas – across all subjects from Construction and automotive to Business and IT.

You will be given a business card with the URL details on and the closing date. It’s really important that you register as soon as possible as choice will be reduced once workshops become full – it’s first come first served.

To register – you need to complete this form. You will be visiting one subject area for the entire day, so you need to make sure it’s something that interests you! Subject areas for both Cornwall College Camborne and Duchy Rosewarne are listed on the form

Next to the subject you will see which campus you will be visiting and this can be either at St Austell, Newquay or Duchy College Stoke Climsland are listed on the form

7 If you want to choose the session fill in the form at the bottom
Read through list of sessions and to read more click on title, press back to check out others. If you want to choose the session fill in the form at the bottom You then need to complete your details in full. Really important – you also need to let us know if you have any disabilities, so that we can make sure you can get around our campus ok. Plus, because we’re providing lunch for you on the day, we need to know if you have any dietary requirements, so you need to complete this section too.

8 Your session will then be confirmed by email
When you are happy with the session, fill in your details at the bottom of the screen- first come, first served. Your session will then be confirmed by You will then get confirmation of the session you have booked- this is the last chance you have to change your mind. Once you press confirm registration you will receive an confirming what you have chosen.

9 And that’s it! DON’T FORGET You need to register by
Monday 10th February 2014 at the very latest! Remember – Choose a session for subjects that you would like to study when you leave school the quicker you register the more chance you have of getting what you want. Any questions?
