6 Transition Experience: Faculty
Three “development” courses for each instructor for testing and building course content Fall 2015 – Spring 2018 course Blackboard courses already migrated to Canvas Other Blackboard courses can be migrated upon request (or if your content needed sooner) Migrate your own content

7 Course Creation, Student Enrollments
Courses created for faculty when department staff add 'Faculty of Record' to course in CMS Students added/deleted automatically based on CMS enrollments Faculty can manually add students in Canvas to give access sooner

8 Term Start/End Dates, Publish Course
Students gain access to the course according to the start and end date of the course By default the start and end date of the course is the first day and last day is two weeks after grades are due, but can be changed by the instructor. You must publish your course for students to see the course contents.

9 Plan: Course Building Strategies
Build from Scratch Start fresh with a blank shell and build your Canvas course. Re-build a Migrated Course Import all content from a migrated course into your Canvas course shell and clean up/re-organize content. Hybrid Approach Start from scratch in Canvas and import some migrated content (e.g., assignments, files, quizzes).
