2. ARCHITECTURE OF THE SCHEME
Infrastructure and assets - 50% (of 70%)

3. Objectives
Achieve ''Lab to land'' by promotion of new technology /varieties through culture of Agri startups
Promote innovation, entrepreneurship and business creation in agriculture and allied sector by skill development, capacity building and technology scale up;
Create employment opportunities for youth
Promote integrated approach for technology acquisition, R&D, commercial technology transfer and knowledge dissemination;
Facilitate agri-startup ecosystem by support including technical, legal, financial, intellectual property and regulatory compliance related services to agripreneurs;
Build a vibrant agri-startup ecosystem, through a network between academia, financial institutions, industries etc.
Pure R&D proposal for academic pursuits not eligible for support.
Some examples – Utilise waste mango kernel to make mango kernel butter and oil for personal care products , making biscuits from traditional millets in combination with wheat flour etc.

10. R-ABIs
Public funded Academic/ Technical/R&D institutions/ organizations/ universities / State Agriculture University(s)(SAUs)/IITs/IIMs in Agriculture & Allied sectors with a proven track record in promotion of agri/rural- technology based enterprises eligible to apply as R-ABIs.
Institutes that have no experience but meet the criteria can all also apply.
R-ABI may be setup as “not for profit‟ section 8 company or as a Society/Trust at the its discretion.
Maximum grant-in-aid of INR 300 lakhs to cover capital and operational expenditure will be made for and

12. Nurture potential agripreneurs by training cum internship to provide practical, technical and business insights.
R-ABI shall announce programme at the state/local level.
Recipient should have initial business plan/ proposal.
Applicants for programme will apply as per prescribed format.
Stipend of Rs 10,000 per month to interns for two months by the R-ABI.
60 hours initial training in R-ABI along with two months hands on training cum internship.

13. Idea/Pre Seed Stage Funding

14. Develop an innovative idea based on technology, service, business platforms etc. and launch the business based on that.
After two months of agri-preneurship orientation, interns will qualify for Idea/Pre-Seed Stage Funding.
Recipient will register as legal entity and to be an Indian start-up as per DIPP definition.
Each selected start-up will be provided seed stage funding as 90% grant up to a maximum of Rs 5 lakh.

To ensure timely seed support to deserving incubatees within R-ABIs.
Translation of minimum viable product to marketable and scale-up product and business.
Selected incubatees will be provided incubation and seed stage money as 85 % grant up to a maximum of Rs. 25 lakhs.
The recipient should be a registered legal entity in India within minimum of two months of residency at the R-ABI.
The recipient has to be an Indian start-up as per DIPP definition.
