11 Student Arrival and Dismissal Expectations
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Arrival Doors open at 7:15 Breakfast is served from 7:15-7:45 Students will wait in the gym and sit in designated bleachers until the first bell rings at 8:00. They will be dismissed at 8:00 and in their classrooms by 8:05 a.m. Dismissal 6th/7th 3:25 8th 3:26 6th graders: once dismissed they will wait outside, near the gym foyer. 7th graders: once dismissed, they will wait in the breezeway. 8th /9th graders: once dismissed, they will wait under the awning in front of the building. Students must be signed in and out at the main office if leaving during the school day by a parent or authorized guardian.

14 Parent Dismissal Procedures
Watch out for pedestrians No cell phones Stay in your car, wait in your car until your child is safely in your vehicle before driving away. All students must be picked up by 3:40 p.m. Students are not supervised after 3:45 and all students not picked up by 3:45 will participate in Champions .

15 JWB District Tardy Policy
Students are tardy at/after 8:05 a.m. Two tardies: Teacher conference with parent by telephone or in person. Three tardies: 1st Written notice to parents that 6 tardies equals one unexcused absence. Five tardies: nd Written notice to parents/ discipline referral Six tardies: Notice to parent that student has an unexcused absence. Students may attend Saturday School to “make up” an unexcused absence. Students may attend up to three Saturday School sessions to recover unexcused absences.

16 Attendance Enforcement: Jubilee Academies designates Cynthia Sneed, Principal to serve as the Attendance Officer of Jubilee Wells Branch school. Please call the school when your child is going to be absent. Upon returning, please have your child to turn in a note (parent signature required )to Rosie Munoz . You will receive a call from School Messenger when your child is absent from school. Up to 3 parent notes per year can be submitted for unexcused absences. Excused absences: Religious holy days Required Court appearances Activities required for citizenship Service as an election clerk Doctors appt (note/s must be turned in) Court ordered family visitation Mental health appts. Unexcused absences: Vacations, car trouble, leaving school early, personal business

17 Attendance For Credit To receive credit or a final grade in a class, a student must attend the class for at least 90% of the days the class in offered. Students with more than nine unexcused absences in a school year will not receive credit or be promoted to the next grade and will be referred to the Attendance Review Committee. 10 unexcused absences in 6 month period may end up as an administrative withdrawal from the school. The Attendance Review Committee will: Attempt to reach a decision that is in the best interest of the student. Determine if absences were due to extenuating circumstances. Read the Attendance Guidelines on the website.

18 Saturday School Rationale: Recover unexcused absences 8:00- noon
Students may recover up to three unexcused absences . Each successfully completed Saturday school shall count as recovery for one unexcused absence.

JWB Pre K-5th (512) LaTasha Johnson, Health Care Assistant JWB 6th-9th Clinic (512) If your child needs to take prescription or over-the-counter medications at school, written parent permission is needed. Medications must be sent in their original container and will be given according to the label. Students who become ill at school must report to the school nurse. Generally we will treat as needed and the student will return to class. If a student is too ill to remain in school, a parent will be contacted. Please make sure contact numbers are up to date.

20 Health Office Things to Know
If you have additional information about the health of your student or medication/treatments needed during school hours, please contact your health care team. Medications needed at school may be given for up to 10 days with a parent signature. A physician’s order of Action Plan will be necessary to continue distribution of medication past 10 days. The first dose of any new medication must be administered by an adult at home or in a physician’s office. Please provide a note or signed care instructions if an injury of illness has changed the plan of care for your student. Example (crutches, sitting out of PE, etc.)

21 Health Office Things to Know
If a student has a fever over 100, rash of unknown origin, vomiting, diarrhea, crusted-red-itchy eyes or is suffering from symptoms that prevent participation in school, they must be sent home. If you child has been ill they must be fever and symptom free without fever reducing medication for 24 hours prior to returning to school Please remember to ask your doctor about a 2018 Flu Shot. Please make sure all contact numbers are up to date.

22 IMMUNIZATIONS New guidelines for immunizations started in The vaccines added for grades 6-12 are: Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and acel.pertussis) MCV4 Menactra (meningococcal) 2nd Varicella (chickenpox) (or date of disease) Students need to have completed all required vaccines to attend JWB. They may be excluded by (date) if these vaccines are incomplete

23 Uniforms: Jubilee Uniforms
Uniforms must be worn Monday thru Friday. Shirt: Grey, Navy, Orange, White, Blue, Red Bottoms: Navy or khaki Shoes: Athletic shoes Free dress Friday –cost $1.00 every Friday or $36.00 donation at the beginning of the year. Please read the Jubilee Academies Parent/Student Handbook.

24 VOLUNTEERS _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ If you are interested in volunteering, you must complete a Campus Volunteer Application each year. The application is located under the parent tab on the main website. This process allows our HR department to run a background check.

26 Lead (Den) Time LEAD time occurs every day from 2:55- 3:25.
Teachers plan a variety of activities to help students achieve success academically and socially. Beginning in early October, RTI will occur during LEAD time. Clubs will occur every other Friday. $36.00 (covers all free dress Fridays) donation to fund clubs.
