Why do celestial objects “Appear” to move? -Because the Earth rotates

2 I. The Moon The moon is Earths only natural satellite.
The moon orbits around the Earth in 27.3 days.

3 Why is this just a theory?
II. Moon Origin Theory Collision Theory: A large object hit Earth, ejecting millions of tons of material which formed into our moon. Why is this just a theory?

4 III. Phases of the Moon results from the revolution of the moon and the sunlight that is reflected. Waxing – an increasing of the lit portion (from the right). Waning – a decreasing of the lit portion (from the right). Half of the moon is always lit by the sun, but the portion we see depends on your perspective.

Solar Eclipse: The moon blocks a portion of the Sun and casts a shadow on Earth.
