2 Coincidental Penalties
Time Penalty A penalty where the time is displayed on the clock and the team must play short for that player; Coincidental Penalty When penalties of equal duration are imposed against players on each team during the same stoppage of play, they are considered Coincidental; Immediate substitution for players assessed Coincidental penalties.

3 Coincidental Penalties
Guidelines to cancel penalties (MOTO): M – cancel as Many penalties as possible; O – cancel in a way to make the team only One player short; T- cancel in a way to avoid Taking a player from the ice; and O – cancel using the Order of penalty Occurrence, or the Order they were reported.

4 Coincidental Penalties Example 1
Team A #15 – 2 + 2 Team B #4 – 2 + 2 Penalties are Coincidental, neither team plays Short.

5 Coincidental Penalties Example 2
Team A #10 – 2 + 2 Team B #25 – GM36+GM37+GM30 Team B plays short for 5 minutes. Player from the ice serves the time penalty.

6 Coincidental Penalties Example 3
Team A #8 – 2 Team B #6 – 2 + 2 Team B will be short. Player from the ice must serve.

7 Coincidental Penalties Example 4
Team A #12 – 5 +GM GM30 Team B #2 – GM36 + GM30 Cancel as many as possible. Team A short for 5 min, Team B short for 2 min. (Player from ice must serve for both teams.)

Team A #17 – 2 and then: #10 - 2 Team B #15 - 2 Who comes out on scoring of B’s 11:30? A#10 A’s penalties are cancelled in order which reported.

Team A #14 – 5 + GM30 Team Official – 2 + 5(MP) Team B 16 – 5 + GM30 Team A is short for 7 minutes. Player from the ice must serve.

Team A #9 – 5 + GM51 #6 – GM36 + GM30 #11 – 2 + 5(MP) Team B #7 – 2 #8 - 2 #12 – GM37 + GM30 #3 – 2 + 2 Team A short 2 players (players from ice to serve). Team B short 2 players.

Team A #31 – 2 + 2 #21 – GM30 Team B #26 – GM30 Team A is short for 2 min. Player from ice to serve Time Penalty. Player from ice to sit goalie’s coincidental Minors. Misconducts to A4 and B6 not a factor when considering Coincidental penalties
