Time Penalty
A penalty where the time is displayed on the clock and the team must play short for that player;
Coincidental Penalty
When penalties of equal duration are imposed against players on each team during the same stoppage of play, they are considered Coincidental;
Immediate substitution for players assessed Coincidental penalties.

3. Coincidental Penalties
Guidelines to cancel penalties (MOTO):
M – cancel as Many penalties as possible;
O – cancel in a way to make the team only One player short;
T- cancel in a way to avoid Taking a player from the ice; and
O – cancel using the Order of penalty Occurrence, or the Order they were reported.

Penalties are Coincidental, neither team plays Short.

Team B plays short for 5 minutes.
Player from the ice serves the time penalty.

Team B will be short. Player from the ice must serve.

Cancel as many as possible.
Team A short for 5 min, Team B short for 2 min.
(Player from ice must serve for both teams.)
