What is the historical significance of these photos today for us? Without the historical person, place or thing, we may not have the life we have today. Do you believe me?

Drs. Banting and Best discovered insulin which has helped people control the disease of diabetes. This was one of many discoveries and advancements of the 1920’s which improved the quality of life for people in Canada and helps people at this school lead a normal life.

These tent cities grew up around Canada, the US, Germany and other countries during the 1930’s because of the Great Depression. Hitler came to power and was elected because he promised to do something to help the poor in his country. Without scenes like this, Hitler would not have come to power. The fact that he did affects out life today because of individual people in our family who were involved in the war. Their experiences define who we are. Our attitudes towards injustice , racism and dictators has changed and many world events around us have happened because of this.
