4 What are socio economic groups?
A - upper middle class, higher management professional B - middle class, intermediate management professional C1 - supervisory clerical or junior management professional C2 - skilled working class; skilled manual workers D - working class; semi-skilled and unskilled manual workers E - pensioners, widows, casual workers

5 How and why are different socio-economic groups disadvantaged in regard to sport participation?
Lower disposable income to spend on leisure activities. Some activities are linked to Social class – examples? May feel excluded from these activities, some clubs have exclusive memberships People saving up for something will generally cut their leisure spending. Organisations in impoverished areas may struggle to pay for facilities, equipment, transport and staff.

Respect Athlete Monitoring Prog (RAMP) – getting mentors to disaffected young people
