What is Philosophy?
“Philosophy comes from the Greek word meaning ‘the love of knowledge’. It is the branch of knowledge devoted to the examination of basic concepts such as truth, existence, reality, cause and freedom.” NB. Socrates is seen as the founding father of Western philosophy. He was forced by the Greek authorities to drink hemlock (poison) because he taught young people to think for themselves.
