2 SCR Overview 2 Releases a year – Audit and User Led
New Product Development process Rolling 5 Year Plan Projects – Interoperability, Site Redesigns Design Groups – Get Involved! National Mandatory Audits Audits are in our Service Level Agreement R1 = audits, R2 = user led changes Interoperability: saving time/duplication/re-keying New Product Dev process – big ideas focussed on areas of the system e.g. Patient Event Diary, Acute Oncology module, redesign of individual Tumour Sites – CWT and COSD remain as core items, with site specific fields catered for. 5-10 year rolling plan will incorporate these projects and Product Development ideas Design Groups – we want to involve users of SCR in the requirements gathering activities to ensure we develop SCR in a way that will really benefit the wider user community – we’d like commitment from anyone contributing Product Development ideas to join a Working Group and also do some User Acceptance Testing to make sure the design works in the most common ‘real life’ situations.

3 CUP Referral – Release

4 Release 1 2016 Acute Oncology Referral CWT XML and 2 x new data items
ICD10 5th Edition HANA (Head & Neck) NLCA (& LUCADA changes) NBCA (Bowel) and NOGCA HANA = Head & Neck Audit NLCA = National Lung Cancer Audit NBCA = National Bowel Cancer Audit

5 Projects 2016 Interfacing (data transfer)
eTertiary – Investigations and Treatments Event Diary File Attachments Palliative Care Redesign Batch Processing Audits SNOMed CT Acute Oncology Referral – will capture some of the AO Minimum Dataset eTertiary – planning on sending all of the info captured in the Investigation and Treatment tables for each Tumour Site Event Diary – using the Root Cause Analysis Proforma as a basis, but making it available from the start of a Referral being added and making it a lot more graphical File Attachments – ability to upload documents to a Cancer Referral e.g. the Macmillan Care Plan, scanned copy of the UKONS Triage log sheet, Image investigation notes, Redesigns – Paeds is scheduled for R – but MDT and CNS are not allocated yet – so R – that gives us a year to gather reqs. Batch processing – will automate the Check Report and the creation of the Audit files SNOMed CT – introduce Lung procedure descriptions first and then a site at a time

6 Priorities Interfacing (data transfer) – what are your priorities?:
Surgeon level reporting data Investigations Radiotherapy SACT Pathology What priority would you like to see us introduce the Interfacing options in? We will start with Referrals as we have already made good progress in this area and then would look at introducing an interface with Surgery data – this is because it is most commonly already in the PAS for PBR. So, we’re looking for your preferred priority for Investigations (Imaging), SACT, Radiotherapy, Pathology. We’d need to do a mapping exercise to identify which are the main fields you would like to see populated by an interface into SCR. We’ll be asking for people to join the Design Group in the next couple of months, so expect an from us about that. Tumour Site Redesign. We are aware that users would like to capture more detailed information on particular body sites, e.g. for Upper GI there are the obvious HPB and OG body sites, for Urology there are the Bladder, Kidney and Testicular body sites. What others would you like us to consider? What we’d like to do is to start redesigning sites to collect body site specific data – however to do this we’d initially need a high level of input from clinicians with expertise in that particular body site. If you know of clinicians in your organisations who would be interested in getting involved, please let us know – this will be the driving factor in us determining which Tumour Sites get redesigned first.

7 Other things User Access Data Views Read Only
User Guides - Roadshow 30th November For more information about Data views (which is a means of accessing the data from the database via pre prepared tables to an Open Database Connection (ODBC)), visit the SCR Website at: And registration for the SCR Roadshow will open shortly – you can register via the SCR Website. And don’t forget to encourage SCR users in your organisation to visit the website to access the User Guides – there are loads of them providing guidance on how to use the SCR system.

8 Roadshow 30th Nov – registration opens October
