1 Before you begin… If you are prepared to share your team’s survey results prior to receiving the overall Business Unit results, simply modify this presentation by editing the Agenda as needed and deleting slides 8-11. Alternatively, you could print the Summary Page for your team’s data from the Engagement Portal and use that, along with the Item Details report mentioned in slide 16 as the primary data points to share with your team.

5 Press Ganey Model of Team Member Engagement
Influences organizational performance A composite score of 6 specific items The outcome variable we are striving to improve Alignment Feeling a strong partnership and connection with leadership Having a shared vision of how to execute the organizational mission A composite score of 6 items within the Leadership domain Provide your team with a high level overview of the Press Ganey model by reviewing the basic components listed here. Begin with emphasizing that Engagement has a positive impact on many things that help create a high performing organization such as: Increased patient satisfaction Higher quality care Increased retention Etc.

6 Press Ganey Model of Team Member Engagement
Domains Leadership: covers perceptions of organizational leadership such as respect, input into decision making, and responsiveness to feedback Organization: covers organization-wide topics such as pay, growth and development and work-life balance Department: covers topics related key service provider groups including: the OR, Lab Services, Radiology, etc. Staff: covers topics related to the relationship between Physicians and hospital staff, including nurses and hospitalists Continue to provide background on these Press Ganey terms.

7 Key Drivers of Engagement are:
Items that are statistically proven to be most closely connected to and influence engagement at IU Health Provided at the overall Organizational level and Practice Group level. Key Drivers are not available at the individual team level Considered essential inputs into all levels of engagement strategy development Describe Key Drivers and the importance of factoring them into both organizational, practice group, and individual team level improvement planning. Mention that you will take a specific look at your team’s performance on the key drivers of engagement within your practice group.

It will be available from your leadership or HR business partner between mid-November – Early December. In mid-November (11/12 – 11/16): Region/business unit leadership teams participate in executive overview meetings to go over detailed region/business unit results. During mid-November – Early December: Region/business unit leadership teams roll out region/business unit survey results locally; leaders discuss results with their teams.

14 Our Team’s Results – Item Details Report
Go to the Item Details page on the Engagement Portal. Select the “Export Page” option in the upper right hand corner of the view. This will lead you down the path of downloading a copy of this report that you can make copies of and distribute to your team during the meeting. This report has detailed scoring/information for every item from the survey. This is a good handout for people to leave the meeting with so that they can study the detailed results and start to think about where improvement areas are across the team.

Next Steps: Take time to review our team’s survey results in more detail individually Gather to discuss areas where we should: Consider developing an improvement plan Dig deeper to better understand a particular topic Describe that you want everyone to take their report, study it a bit and be prepared to come to the next meeting on this topic and discuss additional thoughts on the results, where the team may need to dig deeper to explore an area or two further, and where the team may want to get started on an action plan.
