Good morning, Kirk Hudson, Managing Director – Generation & Transmission and with me is John Yale, Hydro Engineering Manager You might recall at the presentation on March 19, you approved a $500,000 commitment to facilitate the formation of the Hydropower Research Institute. This presentation is to give you a brief update on the status of formation and a resolution requesting your approval of a Bridging Agreement for use of those funds to file the necessary formation documents. 2 Hydropower Research Institute
There are 3 categories of participants: Members Contributors Subscribers We see this concept all coming together by the formation of an independent Hydropower Research Institute, driven by hydropower owners. Institute Offerings: Aggregated generation data set available that includes asset type and operational time-series data from member utilities, Base Platform (dashboard and analytics) maintenance and updates Members have the ability to modify base platform or they can use their own open-source or proprietary platform Subscribers have access to data set by member permission (for member’s data) or by specific-use license for the aggregated data set. The concept of aggregating data is valuable Others are willing to contribute funds There is an interest in this concept from: » Hydropower owners » Manufacturers » National Labs » Colleges and Universities There is an interest regionally in research collaboration between Agriculture, Hydropower, Healthcare, and Technology industries Reduce forced outages Benchmarking Improve O&M practices Improve predictive capabilities Perform research Develop new sensors and monitoring equipment Improve quality and contract terms ©2018 Chelan County Public Utility District

3 Next steps Approve Articles of Incorporation and by-laws
