1 LESSON 6 Who I Am

2 PART 1 MANY VOICES In this lesson you will learn about a few children like you with different tastes and ambitions in their life. Let’s see how each one is different from the others.

3 RADHA Radha’s favourite activity is climbing trees.
She likes to climb and sit in the fork of two branches of the mango tree outside her house. When Radha sits high up in the tree she feels like she can rule the whole world.

4 NASIR Nasir wants to become a seed collector. He wants to learn how to preserve seeds so that they can be used again without spending money every year.

5 ROHIT Rohit likes travelling.He wants to see the mountains of New Zealand. He wishes he could sail down the Amazon river on a raft. He likes to see the beaches of Lakshadweep, Konark temple in Orissa or the old city in Beijing in China and the pyramids of Egypt. He enjoys seeing nature more than old buildings.

6 SERBJIT Serbjit is very truthful and he gets angry when others don’t believe his words. He gets angry even at his teachers and parents when they disbelieve him.

7 DOLMA Dolma is a responsible girl with leadership qualities. Her classmates take her advice when they have a problem and her teachers trust her when something needs to be done in the school.She wants to become the Prime Minister of India. She wants to make things better for everyone.

8 PETER Peter’s favourite day is the second Sunday of everymonth.On this day his whole family goes out for a film. He likes to sit in the darkness of the hall eating peanuts and watching the film.

9 Multiple Intelligences
Each one of us is intelligent in one way or other. Being good at studies is one kind of intelligence. Similarly there are many other types of intelligence too. Visual intelligence Verbal intelligence Mathematical intelligence Bodily intelligence Musical intelligence Interpersonal intelligence

10 Visual intelligence A person having Visual intelligence is good at puzzle building, reading, writing, understanding maps, and graphs, sketching, painting, fixing or making objects, understanding pictures etc.

11 Verbal intelligence A person having Verbal intelligence is good at speaking, story telling, explaining, teaching, convincing someone of his/her point of view.

12 Mathematical intelligence
A person having Mathematical intelligence is good at problem solving, solving puzzles, experimenting, doing mathematical calculations etc.

13 Bodily intelligence A person having Bodily intelligence is good at dancing, acting, miming, physical coordination etc.

14 Musical intelligence A person with Musical intelligence is good at singing, whistling, playing musical instrument, composing music, remembering melodies etc.

15 Interpersonal intelligence
A person having Interpersonal intelligence is good at seeing things at others view, understanding other people’s moods and feelings, co operating with groups communicating etc.
