conquered Greece, military leader Used a Phalanx & cavalry; murdered in 336BC 2-Phillip’s Son-Alex the Great- became king 3-To ensure the Greeks wouldn’t rebel against him, he destroyed Thebes and enslaved the Theban people.

3 4) 333BC Defeated Persians 5) 332BC Egypt surrendered 6) Became ruler of Persian Empire- brilliant leader with well-trained troops

4 9) Alex becomes known For spreading Greek culture-”Hellenistic age” -modeled new cities after Greek ones -spread language & culture -encouraged blend of cultures 8)323BC Alex gets A fever and dies -He leaves no heir -Generals fight -Empire divides 7) 327BC-Soldiers want to return home (return without Alex)
