2 1898 Treaty of Paris Treaty gave the United States control over the Philippines This issue is hotly debated in the US What should the US do with the Philippines? Over the next two days you are going to look at this question and form an argument that supports 1 of 3 options

4 Options in Brief Anti-Imperialism: Imperialism Small Policy: Large Policy: 2 Grant the Philippines complete independence immediately. 3 Create a military base & establish the Philippines as a temporary protectorate. 1 Bring the Philippines into American democracy by making them a colony.
