Data Collection Review & Outcomes Data Specification Version 3 Pamela Edwards

2 Context Data collected within the ANFPP is critical for monitoring program implementation and measuring outcomes for women and children Periodic and systematic reviews are conducted Purpose is to adapt and improve the data collection Note: Figures displayed in this presentation have been provided

3 Overview Version 2.5 was released in July 2015
A systematic review was conducted over two years Review aligned with: Release of the International Data Collection Manual Allow for innovations and adaptations to be included Opportunity to review prior to the expansion of the program and the development of an online data system

5 Outcome Version 3.0 Data Specification
A variation has been submitted for endorsement (V3.1) Program Domains Eligibility and Outcome Processes Minimum Data Set has been defined Mechanisms to support local data collection Reduced data points by between 30-50%

Referrals and service utilisation Further adaptation and contextualisation New collection – Family Partnership Worker visits and contacts Team Forms Client change of status and ending the program

7 Guide to Client Contact and Visits
Examples where consistent recording of client contacts outside of home visits are important: Information regarding pre- consent activity Consistent collection of client contacts Improved Referral and Service Utilisation Information

8 Specific changes Recognition of temporary absences for the program
Improved infant and maternal health information Recognition of first opportunity to parent Enhanced demographic information Alignment with Indigenous Health Indicators relating to smoking, alcohol and substance use

10 Roll-out of Changes Wave 1 sites won’t be immediately impacted – more information to come about implementing these changes Wave 2 sites are currently using the Version 3.0 Data Specification using individual collection methods (Forms or PCIS) and will implement 3.1 in near future Wave 3 and Wave 4 sites will be using the revised Data Specification 3.1

12 Variation - Version 3.1 Two changes awaiting endorsement:
Not collecting specific time spent in the Health and Human Services Program Domain but to allocate time across the 5 other Program Domains to align with International Guidelines Personal Health, Environmental Health, Maternal Role, Family and Friends and Life Course Development Record time spent within the home visits in percentage of total time instead of minutes Recommended changes to Referral and Outcome processes to better reflect actual processes of eligibility assessment and outcomes
