Installation Download 3 packages from https://tscore.co.uk
PostgreSQL database server PostgreSQL database connector TScore installer Install the server first, then the connector, then TScore Always install the database server in a ‘real’ folder e.g. C:\\Postgres not in Program Files, My Documents or the desktop Set the PostgreSQL account name and password to ‘postgres’ Full instructions are online and in the user guide

Installation - 2 Check that the PostgreSQL service is running
Run the Windows ‘Services’ app Check the PostgreSQL service is ‘running’. Start it if not. Run TScore, enter licence string if prompted Connect to the local database server Enter if it fails to find the server by name

Installation - 3 On first run, TScore will offer to install demo competitions These are useful! You can now explore those demo competitions to try out scoring and configuration options Each demo database contains lists of classes and entrants plus competition configuration information You can edit the classes and gymnast details interactively The next few slides will show you some of the options We will show you how to create a completely new competition later

Connect to a competition
The server contains multiple competition databases TScore works with one database at a time Click the Change Database button to choose the database Pick the competition then click Connect

Special actions – set random or sequenced start order, password protect the database, recalculate Search and filter and order the gymnast list This screen is just a variant of the Scoring screen The top is replaced with search and edit options Choose the event, panel and class to list List of gymnasts – same as Scoring screen These buttons provide additional editing features

Edit gymnast details Each gymnast has:
Name Club or school (long and short names) and Region/State Team (appended to short club name) Date / year of birth (optional) BG / USAG number (optional) ‘Guest’ status address(es) Start number Competing class If a gymnast is in more than one discipline, they will have multiple records

Edit teams Schools competitions always need last minute changes
Entry forms indicate team membership (A, B, C etc.) The team letter is appended to the short school name You can just edit that, but there is a much better way Click the Teams button

These set the bounce order for each class You can just edit them to change the order Better to use the ‘Change Flights’ tab – pick a class first

Edit classes Each class has numerous attributes that can be configured
Number of passes, tariff, bonus, discipline, qualification Finals, warmup / compete times, special rules, panel

Editing classes - 1 Pick a class from the list to edit Age, Gender, Grade and Discipline must be a unique combination Name and Full Name must both be unique You should ensure that class names include an indication of discipline for mixed competitions

Editing classes - 3 Simple changes to Name, Full Name – alter and ‘Save Changes’ If you change Age, Gender, Grade or Discipline they must match the entry form or athlete import file fields Event rules depend on the discipline:

Editing classes - 4 Where there is a high entry for a class, you can split into flights You can set the total time and the warmup time per entrant The Green value shows this is the default warmup time (See Preferences later) TScore will adjust this if there are 2 beds

Editing classes - 5 TScore gives lots of options for Qualifying Scores Lower and upper thresholds (e.g. Qualification vs Mobility) One or two conditions (with AND / OR ) Total score, 1 or 2 round score (value > 10.0), difficulty (dN) Absolute (1 to 10) or percentage (N%) positions Include or exclude bonus, horizontal displacement, difficulty

Editing classes – More? The class definitions you have used so far already exist in the competition database. In the ‘advanced’ configuration section later in this course you will learn how to: Create and modify ‘class definition files’ Save your modified classes for re-use Combine one or more classes Create template classes for auto-creation on import

Panels and printers TScore lets you configure each panel directly from the recording station. Go to Edit Competition->Preferences You can set the number of execution judges (ignore ‘Art’ for trampoline!) You can set the number of Range & Conditioning judges TScore can configure 3 different printers (hover over them for info) Printer 1 – Results and checklists Printer 2 - Certificates Printer 3 – Result tickets (for AG)
