Division: is an operation that is used to find how many equal groups or how many are in each group.
Dividend-Is the number of objects to be divided.
Divisor-Is the number by which another number is divided.
Quotient-Is the answer to a division Problem.

4. Topics 10-01: Division is sharing
Four dogs have 24 chew toys to share. How many toys will each dog get?

5. Topic10-2:Division as Repeated Subtraction
Mr. Jones has 24 apples to serve his to students, if each students gets 6 apples, how many students can he serve?

6. Topic10-3: Writing Division Stories.

7. Topic10-4: Relating Multiplication and Division.
Fact family shows how multiplication and division relates.
4x2= ÷4=2
2x4= ÷2=4
- Both use the numbers 2,4 and 8.
-Product and the Dividend are the same number showing the total number of object.

8. Topic 10-05:Fact Families with 2,3,4 and 5
Mathew has 15 balls. He wants to give them to 3 of his friends. How many balls will each friend get ?
3X__= X 5=15
15÷ 3= 5
Suzy baked 12 pies for 3 teachers. How many pies will each teacher get?
3 x __ = x4= 12 12÷ 3 =4

9. Topic10-6:Fact Families with 6 and 7
The basketball team has 42 players . The coach wants 7 players in each group. How many groups will there be?
7x_?_= ÷ 7= x6=42 6groups.
If each group has 6 players-:
6x_?_= ÷6= x7= groups.

10. Topic10-07:Fact Families with 8 and 9
Rex bought 63 sticks for making toys . If he made 9 toys, how many sticks did Rex use for each toy?

9x7=63 ?

11. Topic 10-08: Dividing with 0 and 1.
You can not divide by Zero.
3÷0= x___=3
0 divided by any number except 0 is 0.
0÷3= X0= Any number divided by 1(except 0)is itself.
Bob bought 3 flowers, how many vases will he need if he put one flower in each vase?
3÷1= ÷3=1

Mary is putting pencils and pens into cases.
How many cases will she use for 18 pencils and 21 pens?

She will use 3 cases for 18 pencils and 21 pens.

13. Topic10-10:Solving-:Draw a picture and Write a Number Sentence.
Bill is putting flour from 1 bag into 6 cups. What is the total amount of flour in each cup?

=36 6X6=36
Each cup holds 6 pounds.
