2. About the CJK NACO Project
One of the PCC NACO funnel projects
Collective effort to contribute CJK authority records in NAF
Established reviewers pool to serve members
Members receiving training and other NACO related consultation through the Project
By participating in the CJK NACO Project, those members who would not be able to meet the requirement for NACO institutional membership have a venue to create and contribute authority records to the LC/NACO Authority File.

Some members have already become RDA NACO independent after successfully completing the review process. Others are undergoing review and will be independent in the near future.

4. Other Activities Collaboration with CEAL CTP:
Undifferentiated personal name authority record survey and presentation at the ALA Annual
Proposal for alternative RDA practice for Chinese place names
Proposal was modified by CC:DA for general application and approved by JSC in Nov (6JSC/ALA/19/Sec final/rev)
Will work with CEAL for follow-up actions
A total of 85 people participated in the undifferentiated personal name survey. Contents of the survey were distributed through Eastlib.
The Special Committee to propose a Chinese Place Names Policy for RDA submitted a proposal to include the name of province and its equivalent in all qualifiers for geographic names to ALA in April It was modified and approved by CC:DA in June 2012 to expand its application to other countries under RDA The ALA proposal was approved as an alternative instruction at the Joint Steering Committee of RDA in Nov. The final revised instruction is available at:

Continue to involve in NACO related activities in PCC and CEAL
Participate in CJK authority record clean-up projects as needed
Independent NACO contributors who are currently not part of the Project are welcome to volunteer to share their NACO expertise by serving as reviewers, especially in Japanese and Korean languages.
