Unit 2 By Zak Fraser Tiller

Portraiture Picture/s of self (self portrait) or picture of other. This mode is used to focus on someone's face, in this there is something called field depth – this determines the focus on the subject if there is a low field or high field depth the background will either be blurred or in focus. Photographers use this form of photography because they want people to see what they are seeing for example if they focused on the hand in front of the face and the face was blurred this is because they want to draw attention to the hand Low field depth.

Examples of portraiture
Levels, colour balance and crop. Before After I have improved this picture by enhancing the dark and light shades and the red whilst decreasing the other colours, this has improved the photo because it draws attention to the eyes and scars along with the facial features.

What it does Crop – The crop tool allows you to focus in on the part of the photo you want to edit but cutting off sections of the photo you do not want to keep. Colour Balance – The colour balance allows you to change or enhance certain colours for example red if you want to enhance it you can use the slider and make it brighter or if you want less red you can put the slider to the other side ‘the opposite colour’ this will counter balance the colour. Levels – This allows you to enhance or decrease the shades in the photo, for example if you wanted to have the darker shades stand out more you would decrease the grey and white shades and move the dark slider up.
