1 How to Guide: Find Employers Using America’s Career InfoNet
Use this guide to learn how to find employers who typically hire people in your occupation. Start from the home page of America’s Career InfoNet at Select “Employer Locator” under Career Tools. Insert screen capture The NET Board considered the recommendations of the full ACK Consortium, which includes state representatives from around the country. 12/6/2018

2 How to Guide: Find Employers
You will be able to do a search by Industry, by Occupation, or by Employer Name. We will do a search by Occupation for employers of computer support specialists. 12/6/2018

Scroll to select a state. Highlight it. Click on “Search”. 12/6/2018

4 How to Guide: Find Employers
Highlight a “Job Family”, i.e. Computer and Mathematical. Click on “Search”. OR Type your job title in the space under “Keyword Search”. 12/6/2018

If you do your search by “Job Family”, you will be asked to scroll through a list of job titles in the family you chose. Highlight the job title you want. Click on “Search”. 12/6/2018

If you decide to do a “Keyword Search”, you will be asked to highlight your job title. Click on “Search”. 12/6/2018

7 How to Guide: Find Employers
You will be asked to scroll through the industries that employ your chosen occupation. Highlight the industry you want to look at. Then scroll through the areas of your state. (If your community is not a part of one of the large metropolitan statistical areas, choose Balance of State-BOS-to get an alphabetical listing of remaining communities.) Highlight the part of the state where you want to work. Click on “Search”. 12/6/2018

8 How to Guide: Find Employers
You will be asked to scroll through a list of cities and towns from the geographic area you chose, and pick up to five communities from the list. Highlight those of interest to you. To choose more than one item, after making your first choice,hold the Control Button down on your computer keyboard until all of your choices have been highlighted. Click on “Search”. 12/6/2018

You may be asked to scroll through a number of industries. (The number of employers within each industry is indicated in parentheses.) Highlight the industry you want to look at. Click on “Search”. 12/6/2018

10 How to Guide: Find Employers
You will get a list of employers who typically hire people in your occupation. To get an address, a phone number and a contact name, click on any of the businesses on your list. 12/6/2018

11 How to Guide: Find Employers
If you need a map to show you where the business is located, click on the street sign. To go back to your list of employers, click on “Back”. To look for employers for other occupations, scroll to the bottom of your screen and click on “New Search” at the bottom of the side bar. 12/6/2018
