10. Who takes Antilipemic Drugs?
Clients with elevated cholesterol:
When 6 months of life style changes and diet changes do not lower cholesterol
Those with coronary artery disease (CAD)
Those with family history
Those with other disease processes: DM, HTN, SMOKERS)

Inhibits an enzyme (hydroxymethylglutaryl-coenzyme A reductase) required for hepatic synthesis of cholesterol

Muscle pains

13. Client Teaching
Prevention of stroke, heart attack, peripheral artery disease
Continue on low fat diet
Increase sensitivity to light

Liver Function tests are recommended at first 6-12 weeks then every 6-12 months
