3. Append NUTS regulation
“Statistical regions” will become NUTS on day of accession to EU (1 May 2004)
Annex 1 of NUTS regulation will be appended with list of regions in new Member States
Annexes 2 and 3 will also be appended

So far Hungary is the only New MS to have defined regions at NUTS level 1

5. NUTS regulation will become valid for new MS
3-year moratorium will be synchronised with old Member States (1st period: )
