Figure 1 Algorithm for hematopoietic cell transplantation in patients with MF based on DIPSS score. Platelet count, another parameter of the DIPSS Plus classification (in addition to karyotype and red cell transfusion dependence), also affects prognosis, with and without HCT. The selection of the intensity of the HCT conditioning regimen remains a matter of controversy. As discussed in the text, the ways in which the availability and use of JAK inhibitors will modify the decision about HCT have yet to be determined.
