1 AROUND THE HORN We are testing a new feature this year, as an extension of our weekly current events program and as part of our “bonus content” provided to SCC members. Our goal is to provide a roundup of some of the more creative or interesting #sportsbiz stories being discussed in the industry, helping you connect them to the classroom. We will rely on feedback from members to help determine whether this content is valuable enough to continue sharing throughout the school year. Let us know what you think!

A post announcing the team’s upcoming schedule, replacing team names/logos with emojis. The success of that tweet is still one of the most discussed posts among NBA social media marketers. 6 Supreme is a skateboarding shop and clothing brand established in New York City in April Recently, NBA player JR Smith got a Supreme tattoo, and said the league has threatened to fine him each game if he doesn’t cover it. The brand’s apparel has also been spotted on athletes like Odell Beckham, Jr. this year, providing a great example of marketing through sports.
