How do you buy / get / listen to music? Do you subscribe to a streaming service? How much is your monthly subscription? What are you listening to at the moment (these days)? What / who did you listen to when you were young? Where / when do you (like to) listen to music? What is the last album / track (song) you listened to? What is your favorite album / track? Has the way you listen to music changed over the years? Have you ever been to a live concert? Have your musical tastes changed? How? What did you used to listen to?

4 ‘I have traveled to over 15 different countries.’
Present perfect 1 – have/has + pp ‘I have traveled to over 15 different countries.’ The indefinite past. Some time in the past, but we don’t know when exactly. When did you go to theses 10 countries? In the past. When in the past?

5 I lived in Thailand for 1 year.
Past Simple i. Completed actions I got married in 2007. ii. Long-term situations I lived in Thailand for 1 year. iii. A sequence of activities I met my wife, got married, and then had a daughter. iv. Repeated actions or events I studied hard when I was a student.

6 Time expressions Present Perfect Past Simple for, since, just, yet, so far, already, ever, never in 2010, two weeks ago, yesterday, last winter, when I was a student, last night *notice these times have all finished ✕ ‘I have been to Thailand last year.’ ✕ ‘I have eaten dog when I was an elementary school student’. ✓ ‘I have been to Thailand.’ ✓ ‘I went to Thailand last year.’ ✓ ‘I have eaten dog. ✓ ‘I ate dog when I was an elementary school student’.

7 ‘I have been married for 8 years.’
Present Perfect 2 – have/has + pp ‘I have been married for 8 years.’ - a situation that started in the past and continues to the present - importantly, it is still true now. ‘I was married for 8 years.’

8 Q: Have you ever been in a band? A: Yes, I have. / No, I haven’t.
TASK – Find someone who… …has been in a band. Q: Have you ever been in a band? A: Yes, I have. / No, I haven’t. Q: When were you in the band? A: When I was at university. Q: How long were you in the band (for)? A: Only 1 week. We weren’t very good.
