3. What is a mixture?
A mixture consists of at least two or more different materials mixed together.

5. Mixing Solids What examples can learners provide?
In some mixtures of solids the different substances are still clearly visible after mixing.

6. Separating substances in a mixture
How can these substances be separated?

7. Mixing solids
The bigger the particles of materials are in the mixture the easier it is to separate them out.
e.g. rice and peas
The smaller the particles of materials are in the mixture the more difficult it is to separate them out.

8. Mixing Liquids
In certain mixtures, the materials are mixed so well together that we cannot see the different materials after mixing.
Such mixtures are called “solutions”.
This happens especially when liquids are mixed.
