DON’T USE!
Never use furniture as a stepladder
Select proper ladder for job
Keep away from doors. If you can’t block off door / place caution signs
Keep safe distance from electrical hazards
Use 4-to-1 ratio
3 Points of contact at all times – includes using handrails on stairs
Top of ladder should be at chest or higher. Never use top 2 rungs.
Place on level ground
Inspect before using for damage
Make sure step ladder is open all the way and locked
Don’t climb fast – take your time
Do not carry objects up the ladder
For every 4 feet in height
1 foot in distance from structure
Use Your PPE
Ladder usage over 4 feet must follow GDI safe heights policy PPE including hard/bump caps, tie-offs, and harnesses. See Safety Policy SP-13
