3. Function: OSHA makes sure employers provide employees with a workplace free from certain safety and health hazards (eg. exposure to toxins, excessive noise, heat or cold stress). OSHA created the Occupational Safety and Health Administration at the federal level.
Environmental Issues Affected: The Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Environmental Protection Agency work together to prevent events, such as an accidental chemical release, “that may affect workers, the public, or the environment.”
