Some basics that every good story must have ….

3 The protagonist is the “good guy”

4 The antagonist is the “bad guy” or force

5 Great stories have a conflict
Man vs. Man Man vs. Nature Man vs. Society Man vs. Machine Man vs. Himself

6 Rising action The series of events that lead to the climax of the story, usually the conflicts or struggles of the protagonist. “Things always get worse before they get better”.

7 A hint about what will happen next is called foreshadowing
For example, if you hear this: Then you know someone’s about to get eaten!

9 The time and place of the story is the setting

10 The climax is the most exciting part!!

11 Denouement (French: the action of untying)
Is the series of events that follow the plot's climax. It is the conclusion or resolution of the story.

12 The point of view is the perspective of the story
“I was framed! I just wanted to borrow a cup of sugar!” “That rotten wolf tried to eat us!!!!”

13 Whether you’re the reader, or the writer, a great story includes all these literary elements!!!
