In an effort to collect a nominal amount of primarily market information that the general public finds useful, a MDS collection is to be designed and implemented

Currently 2,700 degree- or certificate-granting non-Title IV institutions listed by IPEDS (Universe 2 institutions)

Primary mission is provision of postsecondary education

4. Area Search Many of the Universe 2 institutions are not known to IPEDS
Extent of this problem is to be identified through the use of area samples
Searches of telephone directories and other relevant sources

5. Data collection
Data will be collected using a web-based system operated by telephone interviewers
Data will be collected from currently listed non-Title IV institutions as well as from those identified through area search
Data will not be collected from non-Title IV institutions that respond to regular IPEDS
