Custom – is a repetitive act of a group, performed to the extent that it becomes characteristic of the group Culture – a collection of social customs

3 How are social customs related to the cultural landscape?
Why do people living in different locations have such different social customs? How are social customs related to the cultural landscape? Folk culture- culture traditionally practiced by a small, homogeneous, rural group living in relative isolation from other groups Popular culture- culture found in a large, heterogeneous society that shares certain habits despite differences in other personal characteristics Cultural diffusion is the spread of cultural beliefs and social activities from one group to another. The mixing of world cultures through different ethnicities, religions and nationalities has increased with advanced communication, transportation and technology.
