While you aren’t able to give this person legal advice, see if you can find some documents in Gale LegalForms help this person get started. Use Ancestry to find a census entry for a relative. If you want to search for a known person, look for my grandmother, Nora Palmer in Polk County, Georgia, in the 1940 census. A student left her copy of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night at school during the Labor Day weekend. Do you have a digital copy she can read? It would be helpful if she could listen online, too.

23 Digital Library of Georgia: New features
I will call out each one of these features separately here, and then demonstrate one by one in a deeper exploration of the whole site. During the live overview of the site I will highlight and share: --browsing by county --browsing on the US Map --The inline , text, cite and reuse features --The free to use limiter/feature --Educational materials --Generally, site navigation, pointing out how the page is sectioned, including the top scroll, the tabbed area for featured collections, and DLG and me

24 Digital Library of Georgia: Content
Government information Books Photographs Newspapers* Historical manuscripts Audio Video More! I’ll use this as an opportunity to give a basic tour of the site, then I’ll focus on the “BROWSE” and “Medium” Options to illustrate how to find specific types of materials by collections, so that this is also a basic collections tour. Clarify that DLG only hosts a small percentage of total digital objects, but COLLECTIONS from other CHO’s are in DLG, and the items in those collections are owned by the holding institution.

25 Georgia Historic Newspapers

27 Part 3: Hands on time! A patron would like to find newspaper articles documenting the work of the Civilian Conservation Corps around the state of Georgia in the 1930s and 40s. I heard that Coretta Scott King once hosted a concert with performances by Stevie Wonder and Gladys Knight. Are there any video clips from that event? Bonus question: point your browser to Search for your hometown. Share with the group anything interesting you find.
