2 Daily Learning Target By the end of the period, I will be able to correctly apply possessive adjectives to nouns in Spanish. I will demonstrate this by completing a group/partner activity.

3 Showing Possession In Spanish there are NO apostrophes.
You cannot say, for example, Jorge’s dog, (using an apostrophe)

4 Showing Possession You must say,
“The dog of Jorge,” only in Spanish. Like this: El perro de Jorge.

5 De + noun This concept of showing possession is using “de + noun.”
For example:

6 De + Noun Tengo el cuaderno de Felipe. La hermana de Maria es amable.

Adjectives DESCRIBE nouns, correct? Well, they can also show possession.

Here are the possessive adjectives in English: my, your, his, her, our, and their.

11 Posessive Adjectives plural nuestro nuestra, nuestros, nuestras (our) vuestro, vuestra, vuestros, vuestras (your inf.) su / sus (their or your formal) singular mi / mis (my) tu / tus (your) su / sus (his,her) (or your formal)

Some examples: mi hermano mis hermanos tu abuela tus abuelas su hijo sus hijos nuestro tío nuestros tíos nuestra tía nuestras tías

13 Possessive Adjectives
The possessive adjective must be singular if the noun is singular and plural if the noun is plural.

14 Posessive Adjectives Mi prima es alta. Todas mis primas son altas.

No, sus hermanos son pelirrojos.
